Links to Modules

Welcome!

Welcome to CruDoctrine. Make sure you read this entire introduction. It will provide valuable info to help you to know how to work through these modules.

Remember that Statement of Faith that you signed when you applied for your stint or internship? (Probably not, but that's o.k.). Well, throughout this study, you will basically be guided through the Crusade Statement of Faith and have the opportunity to interact with it and go deeper.

But, by now you may be thinking. "Study? . . . Statement of Faith? I think I'd rather go make some support calls, thank you." Hopefully this is so much more than simply a class. And, hopefully you will like it at least as much as making support calls.

The goals of each module and of the class as a whole are:

  1. For you to learn about the core doctrines of our faith;
  2. For you to increasingly agree with and to increasingly become committed to our Statement of Faith; and
  3. for your heart and mind to be moved toward greater worship of our Lord and Savior.

Most modules include five elements.

  1. There will be a brief introduction to each module;
  2. you will then "examine the pieces" by looking at the whole of scripture to help form your theology on each topic;
  3. you will then have an opportunity to "learn from others" where you will listen or watch pastors and/or teachers further explain or clarify the topic you have been studying;
  4. you will then move into a section called "so what" where you will have an opportunity to truly engage your heart through worship, journaling, etc.;
  5. finally, you will take a brief quiz or "assessment" that will help drive home what you have been studying. As you are taking the "assessment", if you click a wrong answer, you will be directed back to the page where you studied that material. You can then go back to the assessment, click the right answer and move on to the next question.

This is meant to be extremely interactive. As you will see, there will be questions along the way to help you reflect on the material. Once you have created a username and password, these answers will be saved and you will be able to access them later if you like.

Also, you will notice that some questions are pre-flagged for follow-up with your summer intern coach during your regular phone appointments.

And, every other question has a place where you can flag it for follow up – for personal follow up or follow up with your coach. For those questions you flag to follow up with your coach, this is your opportunity to alert your intern coach that you would like to talk about this question. You may flag it because it raises a theological issue. Or, it may be because it raises a personal issue for you. Either way, your intern coach is there to help you through the process. For those questions you flag for personal follow up, these are questions you will be able to easily access later for further reflection or study.

Throughout these modules, you will see videos from some prominent Christian leaders - men like Al Mohler, CJ Mahaney, Chip Ingram, Mark Driscoll, Josh Harris, John Piper, and Tim Keller. Of course, we don't endorse everything that these guys hold to. But, they would gladly agree to our statement of faith.

So much of this content follows was adapted from two main sources:

  1. Wayne Grudem's book Bible Doctrine. You will see him quoted throughout. And truly, this study couldn't have been written in the three months it took to write it without his help in this book.
  2. The ESV Study Bible provided quotes and great charts to help see the ideas presented.

As a new minister of the gospel, you may want to get these as a resource for your ministry.

Finally, you will need the latest version of Flash. You can download it for free here. And, on that note, when you come to a page with a video, you may have to wait a few minutes for it to load.

So, glory to God as it is our prayer that you freshly encounter Him and the truth of His word. Enjoy the journey.
